Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of roles in order to ensure a successful, safe and fun event for all participants. All volunteers receive an event t-shirt and goodie bag. Below, please find a list of potential volunteer assignments and descriptions for each. Time requirements will vary based on volunteer availability, assignments and other factors. You will be able to list any requests or special notes on the volunteer registration form when it is available, this winter.

If you are interested in helping to plan and organize the event, please let us know!

Here is a listing of the types of roles in which your help may be needed.

Registration Team - Two groups of 2-5 people who will assist with on-site check-in. One team for volunteers and one team for cyclists. (This requires a pre-event meeting, in August).

Merchandise Sales Specialists - This will be one team of 2 people who will be responsible for sales of additional RRR and LIFEcycle apparel, accessories and gifts. The group will also collect day-of donations. (This requires a pre-event meeting, in August).

Route Marshalls and Cheering Squad - Several groups of 2 or more people strategically positioned along the route to cheer on riders with signs and cowbells, and helping to ensure the safe crossing of busy intersections... Cowbells provided by LIFEcycle! (This is a great option for groups of 2-5 people who want to volunteer together.)

Nutrition Team - Three groups of 2-4 people; Group A (Saturday afternoon) will handle food prep and make PB+J, slice fruit and fill jugs with sports drink and water, then stage it for set-up at registration and pick-up by Rest Stop Brigades on Sunday. Groups B+C will help pack cars/vans to go to rest stops then will set up food for during registration and prep/set-up food for after the ride.

Rest Stop Brigades - These three groups (one group per rest area) of 4-8 people will pick up food, water/sports drink, a canopy, tables and chairs from camp (only 1 or 2 people needed for pickup) and meet the rest of their brigade at the Rest Stop locations. Everything must be set up for the anticipated time of arrival of the first riders along the route. Following the departure of the last rider along the route, the site will be broken down and items returned to Camp JORI. (This is a great option for medium-sized groups who want to volunteer together... take charge of an entire rest site to promote your business or group!)

First Aid Providers - Four teams of 2-3 people (could be one person) will be located at each of the rest areas and the start/finish site. These volunteers should have medical training and be either a RN, CNA, EMT, doctor, lifeguard, firefighter, police officer or otherwise certified in first aid/CPR.
