The Mission

  • The RRRide exists to bring people together in support of cancer treatment

  • Money raised by RRR2016 will support programs that treat cancer locally and advance treatment globally

  • Fundraising is a critical part of what it means to participate in Ride 'Round Rhody

    • Cyclists who raise or donate $1,000+ will be recognized as members of the 2016 Peloton Pack

  • Volunteerism plays a tremendous role in making the event a success by inspiring riders and donors, alike; and by allowing the event to have the financial impact necessary to make a difference in cancer treatment

    • Volunteer registration will open in April

Training

  • A general guideline for training for a long ride (that is not a race) is that the distance you typically ride in one week can be ridden in one day

  • For maximum comfort and enjoyment on ride day, it is recommended that you:

    • Have ridden a few rides of at least 2/3s the distance of your intended route during the the summer, particularly one or two in the weeks leading up to the ride

    • Average around 125% of the miles of your intended route for each week starting in late June

    • Give yourself an easy "taper" week leading up to the ride
